Riyadh: The AmCham Saudi Arabia Riyadh Chapter will host a Holiday Party at the Residence of the U.S. Deputy Chief of Mission from 6:00 pm to 9:30 pm on Saturday, December 9th.

The guests will enjoy an enchanting evening filled with live music by the Elites Band, seasonal food and beverages, and the opportunity to network with the greater business community, especially the AmCham Saudi Arabia business network.

Eastern Province: The American Chamber of Commerce Saudi Arabia's Eastern Province Chapter invites you to its Annual Holiday Reception at the U.S. Consulate Dhahran on Wednesday, December 13th from 7PM to 9PM. Come celebrate the holiday season with your fellow AmCham members at the residence of U.S. Consul General Jim Sindle. Members are welcome to invite their spouses and non-member guests as well.

Guests will enjoy an evening reception with hors d'oeuvres and select complimentary refreshments. There will be a cash bar available for additional refreshments. The dress code for this event is smart casual. The event will be held in the garden, so please dress for the weather. Security gates open from 6:30PM.

Registration closes Sunday, December 10th at noon.

Bahrain: Mark your calendars as AmCham Saudi Arabia EP Chapter and AmCham Bahrain come together again to bring back the Annual Charity Golf Tournament & Gala Dinner, to be held on January 12th 2024 in Bahrain. The tournament will benefit Nusf, the Arab Institute for Women’s Empowerment, based in Khobar, as well as INJAZ Bahrain, a Junior Achievement affiliate.

Jeddah: AmCham Saudi Arabia's Sport Committee and American Express teamed up for an exciting day on the famous Royal Greens Golf Course at KAEC followed by the prize ceremony and dinner reception at the US Consulate in Jeddah.

Golfers competed in a Texas Scramble style golf tournament with the opportunity to win a fully-loaded GMC Yukon Denali from Altawkilat. Beginners and guests participated in lessons from Golf experts provided by Saudi Golf on the golf range. The attendees enjoyed breakfast and lunch in the clubhouse and beverages throughout the tournament by MenaBev. Following the tournament all guests were celebrating the winners of the skills competition at the evening reception and award ceremony.

Riyadh: The American Chamber of Commerce Saudi Arabia’s Defense and Security Committee hosted its Closed-door Roundtable Discussion on Thursday, November 23rd at Marriott Diplomatic Quarter in Riyadh.

The meeting was led by Nomaan Syed, Chair of the AmCham Saudi Arabia's Defense and Security Committee. The attendees were provided with the committee updates and synchronization within the Committee.

Eastern Province: On November 21 and 22, the AmCham Energy Committee sponsored a group of women members to attend LEWAS 2023 (Leadership Excellence for Women Awards & Symposium) championed in part by AmCham member business SLB and with speakers from Baker Hughes and PWC among others. 

Topics included advancing diversity, equity & inclusion in the energy sector, decoding sustainability, leveraging AI in HR to promote inclusion for women in the workplace and more! Jeddah: The American Chamber of Commerce Saudi Arabia’s ESG Committee teamed up with the Saudi Green Initiative on Saturday, November 25th as the first group to plant trees in the national reserve area at East of Jeddah. 

Saudi Green Initiative’s plan in line with vision 2030 is to plant 100 million trees by 2030, including 7 million trees in national parks and forests to offset approximately 45 million tons of CO2 emissions. Participants were introduced to native plants and trees while hiking the trail, followed by the tree planting initiative.

Riyadh: The American Chamber of Commerce Saudi Arabia’s Healthcare Committee hosted the Year-End Diwaniya on November 28th at Dorat Najd Resort in Riyadh. This informal gathering of healthcare professionals facilitated an open discussion about the Healthcare Committee plans and initiatives for the upcoming year, providing a platform for collaboration and shared insights.

The event commenced with opening remarks by the Healthcare Committee Chair Mazen Takhah, who introduced the committee and its members to the guests, followed by a presentation by Zeynep Kosereisoglu, Managing Director at FrontierView, who provided the outlook of Saudi Arabia’s Healthcare Sector. Zeynep talked through the sector financing and budget, innovation, reforms, opportunities and challenges. She presented the areas of improvement as well as the actions to consider for AmCham Saudi Arabia’s Healthcare Committee.

During the moderated discussion by Healthcare Committee Co-Chair Haitham Al Zuhair, the Diwaniya guests delved deeper into the healthcare sector transformation and economic participation, focused on IP and Data Exclusivity, explored the programs, and discussed the committee plans.

The event was concluded by the Healthcare Sector Lead from the U.S. Embassy Khalid Khan who provided the closing remarks followed by networking while enjoying a traditional BBQ.

It was a great networking and engaging event with an excellent turnout of the healthcare committee members and an opportunity to reconnect, introduce new members, and foster a sense of the dynamic healthcare sector.

Eastern Province:  Members and guests of AmCham Saudi Arabia’s Eastern Province Chapter were invited to attend the exclusive U.S. Marine Corps Ball hosted at the U.S. Consulate Dhahran on November 10th. Many thanks to U.S. Consul General James Sindle for his hospitality and most importantly to the U.S. Marines whose mission it is to serve and protect the U.S. Consulates and Embassies around the world.

Riyadh: The American Chamber of Commerce Saudi Arabia hosted the webinar on the recently published draft Income Tax Law by the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) on Wednesday, November 22nd, 2023.

Our experts, Zachary Noteman, Partner at PwC, and Thomas Vanhee, Partner at Aurifer, shared an insightful presentation containing a comprehensive overview of the proposed reforms and answered the questions submitted by the audience. 

The next webinar will take place early next year once the final Law is passed, and we will go into detail about the final version of the law.

Eastern Province: Our Eastern Province Chapter hosted a Business Networking Luncheon on 29 November welcoming Deputy Chief of Mission Alison Dilworth from the U.S. Embassy Riyadh to the Eastern Province for the first time. Guests enjoyed a special Thanksgiving-themed lunch followed by a Fireside Chat exploring the topics of Saudization and Vision 2030's goals for women's empowerment and inclusion.  

AmCham Saudi board member and President of ExxonMobil Saudi Arabia Fernando Vallina gave opening remarks. Panelists Tara Smyth of JP Morgan, Ibrahim Alazzaz of Air Products Qudra, Aideen Hopkins of EER Arabia, and moderator and new AmCham Women in Business Committee Chairperson Dr. Diana Korayim presented an insightful and engaging discussion highlighting their organizations' successes and exploring how to overcome the challenges as well.
