Jeddah:  The American Chamber of Commerce Saudi Arabia's Sports Committee and American Express Saudi Arabia will host a memorable event at the famous Royal Greens Golf Course at KAEC. The Royal Greens Golf Club will stage a wonderful Texas Scramble Tournament and a golf clinic allowing beginners and guests to join the fun.

Attendees will be able to engage in the golf activities, enjoy breakfast and lunch, and leave with a gift.

Following the golf tournament, an exclusive reception will be held at the U.S. Consulate in Jeddah from 7:30 PM - 10:00 PM.

Non-golfer attendees will be able to join in on the fun on a first-come, first-serve basis during the golf clinic.

Riyadh: The Healthcare Committee's year-end event will follow the successful launch event that occurred earlier this year, providing insights into recent updates in healthcare transformation. Furthermore, it will delve into various topics of interest to the members of the American Chamber of Commerce in Saudi Arabia and industry leaders in the healthcare sector. The event will furnish attendees with valuable information on updates in the Saudi Healthcare transformation, Economic Participation, RHQ, Investor Incentives, Personal Data Protection Law, and IP Protection. Before concluding with dinner and networking, attendees will have the opportunity to get a firsthand preview of what healthcare will look like at NEOM.

Bahrain: Mark your calendars as AmCham Saudi Arabia EP Chapter and AmCham Bahrain come together again to bring back the Annual Charity Golf Tournament & Gala Dinner, to be held on 12 January 2024 in Bahrain. The tournament will benefit Nusf, the Arab Institute for Women’s Empowerment, based in Khobar, as well as INJAZ Bahrain, a Junior Achievement affiliate.

Dhahran: The AmCham Energy Committee met for their first program of the season, a closed door roundtable and luncheon. Newly appointed Consul General Dhahran James Sindle joined the session to hear from US companies about their business outlook and experience operating in the Kingdom. 

The luncheon started off with remarks from Ibrahim Moussa, Managing Director for Saudi Arabia and Bahrain of SLB, as well as from Chairman of the Energy Committee, Ebubekir Koyuncu, CEO of Air Products Qudra. Co-chairman Reid Wayman of Flowserve moderated the discussion where committee members highlighted their companies’ efforts as they seek to meet and exceed the objectives of both IKTVA and Vision 2030. 

The Energy Committee is sponsored by Air Products Qudra and Flowserve. The luncheon was graciously hosted and sponsored by SLB.

Riyadh:  The Atlantic Council Middle East Initiatives hosted an informative and engaging workshop on women’s economic participation and its impact on healthcare sector in Saudi Arabia on Wednesday, October 18th. The attendees were able to join online worldwide or in-person at the American Express office in Riyadh and delve deeper into the importance of the topic focusing on women role in the healthcare sector highlighting challenges and gaps.

AmCham Saudi Arabia has a pleasure to be the in-country partner with Atlantic Council Middle East Initiatives and support the #WinFellowship program to empower women entrepreneurs and increase their participation in the local economy. We are looking forward to working together on more engagements.

Riyadh: On October 23rd, 2023, The American Chamber of Commerce Saudi Arabia’s Sport Committee in collaboration with Hushood Entertainment Events Co. hosted the discussion panel on the topic of Women in Sports: Breaking Barriers and Building Legacies at the Marriott Hotel in Diplomatic Quarter in Riyadh.

Opening remarks were made by Maxwell Andrews, Chairman of AmCham Saudi Arabia’s Sport Committee who introduced the committee’s activity including aspects of women's empowerment in sports, followed by panelists’ remarks, a moderated discussion and engaging Q&A session.

The panel discussion was joined by H.E. Arm Zeden, Chairman of Saudi Polo Federation, H.E. Reem Abtan Alfaqir, Chairwoman of Saudi Committee for Traditional Games, Dr. Maha Al-Juffali, President of Special Olympics Saudi Arabia, Sarah AlMubarak, Strategy Consultant and Advisor at Saudi Arabian Equestrian Federation, and moderated by Lana Klyueva, Project Delivery Director Saudi Tourism Authority.

The panelists discussed the equestrian sport which “is one of the rarest sports with boys and girls competing on the same level” and highlighted the aim of the tournament and women participation in polo. They talked about the Al Ula desert event and plans to feature women teams. The discussion was also focused on women participation in Special Olympics, their achievements, and plans for future engagements.

After the panel all guests had an opportunity to network and try their luck at playing Saudi traditional games.

Riyadh: On Wednesday, November 1st, the American Chamber of Commerce Saudi Arabia's Environment, Social, and Corporate Governance (ESG) Committee orchestrated the ESG Finance Conference at the Marriott Diplomatic Quarter in Riyadh. This day-long event convened a diverse assembly of industry experts, thought leaders, and professionals from around the globe, all congregating in Riyadh to foster knowledge, collaboration, and innovation within the realm of ESG finance.

The opening remarks were eloquently delivered by Nizar Kammourie, the Chairman of the AmCham Saudi Arabia's ESG Committee and CEO of SAWACO Water Group. Dr. Luisa Javier, Director of Programs & Events at AmCham Saudi Arabia, and CEO of Wayakit, as well as Dareen Ayyad, the ESG Committee Co-Chair and Country Manager at UL Solutions, followed suit, setting the tone for the day.

Distinguished speakers, such as Georg Kell, Chairman at Arabesque and the founding member of the UN Global Compact, and Luis Neves, the Global CEO at The Global Enabling Sustainability Initiative, brought forth their profound insights on the latest trends, strategies, challenges, and opportunities in the dynamic realm of ESG finance. Their participation underscored the international significance of this event.

The conference was thoughtfully structured into an opening plenary session , three discussion panels and four presentations, each delving deeper into the multifaceted world of ESG finance. The panelists led informative dialogues centered around sustainable finance, innovation, corporate governance, responsible investing, digitalization, and corporate social responsibility. These interactive sessions created an invaluable platform for engaging conversations and knowledge-sharing among participants, all with the shared goal of forging a more sustainable and inclusive financial ecosystem.

Following the conference, a reception was hosted at the residence of the Deputy Chair of Mission at the U.S. Embassy. This gathering provided an excellent opportunity for networking and establishing new connections.

Riyadh: The American Chamber of Commerce Saudi Arabia hosted an exclusive event “My Journey in Space ” featuring Dr. Anna Lee Fisher, a former NASA Astronaut, on Tuesday, October 3rd in Marriott Diplomatic Quarter in Riyadh.

Anna Fisher is a chemist, an emergency physician, and a NASA astronaut, who was also the first mother to go to space in November of 1984. The purpose of the mission was to deploy two communication satellites for the US and retrieve two satellites for refurbishment. Dr. Fisher’s role was a robotic arm operator and flight engineer.

The meeting commenced with the presentation by Dr. Fisher who talked through her career path and how she became an astronaut in time to become a female astronaut didn't exist. She shared insights on her experience of flying to space and the challenges she met before and during the mission. She also expressed her excitement about the incredible changes for women in the space industry, and she highlighted an exciting transformation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The presentation was followed by the moderated discussion by Jamila El-Dajani focusing on the opportunities for stronger regulations, international collaboration, and the importance of perseverance in achieving goals whether in space or in our careers overall. The meeting concluded with an engaging Q&A session.

Al Khobar: On November 1, the Eastern Province Chapter hosted a Networking After Dark event at the US Consulate Dhahran. Our members enjoyed a Halloween-themed evening mingling with fellow business leaders from the region. AmCham Saudi Arabia Board Member Majed Sherbiny gave welcoming remarks. US Commercial Counselor Tatyana Aguirre then introduced newly appointed US Consul General Dhahran Jim Sindle to the US business community. Consul General Sindle highlighted one of his primary objectives, to support U.S.-Saudi business partnership, and reiterated his support for the mission of AmCham Saudi Arabia.
