Riyadh: AmCham Saudi Arabia under its Arts, Culture, and Entertainment (ACE) Committee will host the second annual U.S. Saudi Film Forum, a series of roundtable discussions between U.S. and Saudi film industry executives focused on growing the film industry between our respective countries.
This event, with the support of the U.S. Embassy in Riyadh, will facilitate collaboration between senior figures from the U.S. film industry and their established counterparts in Saudi Arabia, including producers, investors, attorneys, financiers, film companies, distributors, government, and industry executives.
The forum will foster growth and informed decision-making among key film industry players through open dialogue, roundtable discussions, and collaboration. This year's forum will include a discussion on the progress made to challenges identified in last year's inaugural forum.

Jeddah: On April 2nd, AmCham Saudi Arabia's Jeddah Chapter hosted the Women in Business Committee Iftar designed to unite influential women in the business community for a meaningful evening of collaboration and networking at the Social Kitchen Jeddah.
Co-hosted by female entrepreneurs Basma Elkhereiji, Founder of The Social Kitchen, The Social Bakery, Khalila, Alieía and ACL; and Hala Dakhil, Co-founder and Head Trainer of Pulse Studios, this event served as a platform to network, create connections as well as empower and inspire women in various industries.
This exclusive event is part of a two-event series that seeks to honor and celebrate the accomplishments of women in business while fostering collaboration and growth.

Riyadh: On April 22nd, AmCham Saudi Arabia hosted its Education Committee Launch Event at Marriott Diplomatic Quarter in Riyadh. The event themed “From Riyadh to Washington: Building Bridges in Education” was a resounding success as our members gathered to kick off this exciting new initiative. Attendees were treated to inspiring speeches, panel discussion, engaging Q&A session and networking opportunity.
The event commenced with welcome remarks by Nomaan Syed, AmCham Board Member and Director of Committees, followed by the Education Committee Chair Dr. Maha Bawazir and Co-Chair Dr. Michael Mack, who introduced the Education Committee to the audience. The keynote speaker was Davida MacDonald, Cultural Attaché at U.S. Embassy in Saudi Arabia, shared a compelling speech on the importance and future of the education sector in Saudi Arabia.
The panel discussion led by Hans Ott, Director of Teaching and Learning at International Schools Group, comprised of esteemed education industry leaders, including: Steffen Sommer, Director General at MISK Schools; Ali Lejlic, Counselor of Public Affairs at the U.S. Embassy Riyadh; Asma Alkadi, CEO of AlTarbyah Allslamyah Schools (TIS); Ehab Gheidan, Head of Education MENA at Google and Dr. Michael Mack, Superintendent at International Schools Group.
The panelists engaged in thought-provoking conversations on the key challenges and opportunities facing Saudi the education system in line with Vision 2030 delving deeper into crucial topics, such as the importance of global perspectives in career preparation, artificial intelligence influence on education, the country's appeal as a destination for expatriate professionals and areas for improvement in the education system in Saudi Arabia.

Jeddah : On April 29th, we welcomed the AmCham Saudi Arabia's Healthcare Committee members to the western region. The mission consisted of a full day of site visits to healthcare facilities followed by an evening reception at the US Consulate.
The day started off with a tour of the newly opened architectural marvel, Andalusia Jeddah Hospital, meeting with Director, Dr.Ahmed Alsolami, and the senior leadership team. Next, the committee visited Dr. Sulaiman Al Habib’s new state of the art hospital, viewing the latest technologies with General Director, Abdullah Abdulaziz Al Turki and his esteemed team. The mission rounded up the day with a meeting and tour of King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre showing us a vision of the new facilities being built.
Following the mission was an evening reception at the US Consulate hosted by Consul General Faris Asad with Healthcare Committee members including Johnson and Johnson, STRASYS, Abbott, AMGEN, Illumina, Davita Care KSA, MSD : Merck, Sharp &Dohme, Saudi Chemical Holding Company, Novo Nordisk Saudi for Trading, Healthcare Development Holding Company, and Bayer.

Eastern Province: On April 30th, the American Chamber of Commerce Saudi Arabia's Technology Committee hosted a private dinner at the residence of U.S. Consul General Dhahran James Sindle.
Led by Committee Chair Sarah Al-Husseini of Google, the AmCham Saudi Arabia Technology Committee supports Vision 2030’s technology ambitions, which aim to enhance the role of the technology sector to build a digital society and a thriving digital economy targeting an innovative future for the Kingdom.
Guests, including those from the Energy and Education Committees, engaged in a robust cross cutting discussion on emerging technologies in Saudi Arabia with a focus on Artificial Intelligence and Infrastructure, underscoring the importance of US investments in the Kingdom, public-private collaboration, and enabling structural reforms to support these technology advancements.
Guests also exchanged ideas on how emerging technologies can support the renewable energy and traditional petrochemical industries and how educating the Kingdom’s youth and upskilling the existing workforce in emerging technologies is key to ensuring Saudi’s continued success.

Susie Wittig, Head of Membership, Riyadh Chapter
Susie brings over twenty years of legal expertise and community building to AmCham Saudi Arabia. She received her bachelor's degree in political science from Rhodes College and her law degree from the University of Tennessee College of Law.
Susie's career is marked by her dedication to community development. She worked for the Tennessee Office of the Governor on a wide range of community projects, from education to the environment, collaborating with all community sectors. Later, as legal counsel for the Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance, she led the regulation of health insurance companies operating in Tennessee, ensuring financial stability and optimum claims processing.
Her family moved to KAUST (King Abdullah University of Science & Technology) in Saudi Arabia, where she worked for the Superintendent of Schools in finance, accreditation, and athletics/activities. Upon her return to the US, Susie continued her legal career as a corporate lawyer. She worked for industry leaders in oil and gas, manufacturing, and cybersecurity technology, gaining a deep understanding of these sectors.
Her specialization in contract management and her experience working with Fortune 500 companies, state and local governments, and federal defense contractors underscore her professional competence and versatility. |
