Jeddah: The American Chamber of Commerce Saudi Arabia’s Arts, Culture and Entertainment (ACE) Committee held the booth at the Red Sea International Film Festival in Jeddah that took place from November 30th until December 9th, 2023. The booth was an excellent opportunity for the film Industry experts to discuss the Saudi film industry topics as well as the upcoming next addition of the film forum and meet with the AmCham Saudi Arabia team. 

The AmCham Saudi Arabia guests also enjoyed the film themed evening reception hosted by US Ambassador Michael Ratney on December 4th, 2023 at the US Consulate in Jeddah. With live jazz music the event provided an opportunity to network and celebrate the success of the first U.S. Saudi Film Forum. 

The next edition of the U.S. Saudi Film Forum will be hosted on May 31st and June 1st, 2024. This event, organized by the AmCham Saudi Arabia's ACE Committee, will facilitate collaboration between accomplished professionals from the USA film industry and established counterparts in Saudi Arabia including producers, investors, attorneys, financiers, film companies, distributors, government, and industry executives.

Saudi Arabia: On December 3rd, the American Chamber of Commerce Saudi Arabia’s Infrastructure Committee had the pleasure to host a luncheon and discussion during a 2023 Transportation and Logistics Trade Mission to Saudi Arabia organized by the U.S. Commercial Service at the Marriott Hotel in Diplomatic Quarter in Riyadh.

The discussion was led by Jamil Adi, AmCham Saudi Arabia’s Infrastructure Committee Chair who provided the welcome remarks followed by the presentations from Abdulelah Aleidan, Senior Director and Head of Transport at National Center for Privatization & PPP (NCP) addressing transportation and logistics opportunities in Saudi Arabia and Shashank Rath, Partner at Synergy Consulting who shared insights into the legal and financial aspects of Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) on both regional and global scales.

The Transportation and Logistics Trade Mission featured delegates from 10 leading U.S. companies looking to enter the Saudi market and expand their business ventures in the Kingdom. As part of the mission, delegates had the pleasure of meeting with various Saudi government entities and a wide range of prominent Saudi firms.

Jeddah: The American Chamber of Commerce Saudi Arabia’s Jeddah Chapter in collaboration with U.S. Commercial Service hosted a Luncheon and Presentation on Opportunities in the Saudi Special Economic Zones on December 5th in Jeddah Hilton Hotel. The insightful presentations and Q&A discussion focused on special regulatory incentives and exemptions in Special Economic Zones (SEZ) and comprehensive services for Economic Cities.

The event commenced with opening remarks by Mohamad Tafesh, AmCham Saudi Arabia’s Jeddah Chapter Vice President followed by Carla V. Menéndez, U.S. Deputy Commercial Counselor. The speakers including Omar Al-Bahiti, Director General at Economic Cities and Special Zones Authority (ECZA), Yazeed Al-Sawat, Director for Special Projects at KAEC, Yahya Hashed, Jazan SEZ Representative at Royal Commission for Jubail & Yanbu provided an overview on the Special Economic Zones in Saudi Arabia and opportunities open for international companies. Following the presentations, attendees were engaged in a dynamic Q&A session.

Riyadh: The AmCham Saudi Arabia's Riyadh Chapter hosted a Holiday Party at the Residence of the U.S. Deputy Chief of Mission on Saturday, December 9th. The attendees were greeted with cheerful decorations, seasonal food and live music by the Elites Band to enhance the festive spirit.

The evening started with the welcome speech from the U.S. Deputy Chief of Mission Alison Dilworth, who highlighted the outstanding AmCham Saudi Arabia’s achievements, followed by Chairman of AmCham Saudi Arabia Bill Foster expressing gratitude for everyone's hard work throughout the year and wishing everyone a delightful evening. This was followed by the introduction of a New U.S. Commercial Counselor to Saudi Arabia Andrew Billard.

 

The party provided an opportunity to network with the greater business community, especially the AmCham Saudi Arabia business network and served as a platform to celebrate the achievements of the year.
