Riyadh: The American Chamber of Commerce Saudi Arabia’s Sports Committee in collaboration with American Express Saudi Arabia hosted the 28th Annual Golf Tournament on May 2nd and 3rd, 2024 at the prestigious Riyadh Golf Club.
Participants enjoyed two days of friendly competition, networking, and beautiful weather on the course, followed by the evening reception at the U.S. Embassy.

Dhahran: On Friday, May 3rd, 2024, the U.S. Embassy Saudi Arabia and the U.S. Consulate General Dhahran, in cooperation with AmCham Saudi Arabia's Arts, Culture & Entertainment (ACE) Committee hosted a luncheon at the iconic Ithra in the Eastern Province with U.S. Deputy Ambassador Alison Dilworth, U.S. Consul General Dhahran James Sindle, Director of the U.S. Saudi Film Forum and ACE Committee Chair Todd Albert Nims, and film industry professionals to celebrate the successes of the Saudi Film Festival over the last ten years and highlight U.S.-Saudi partnership in the film industry. |

Riyadh: The AmCham Saudi Arabia’s Professional Services Committee hosted a panel discussion focused on “Managing Risk on Mega Projects in Saudi Arabia” on Monday, May 6th at Marriott Hotel in the Diplomatic Quarter in Riyadh.
The event commenced with welcome remarks by Kassem Younes, Chair of AmCham Professional Services Committee, followed by remarks from Andrew Billard , Senior Commercial Counselor at U.S. Embassy Riyadh.
The panel discussion moderated by Aseel Zimmo, Managing Partner at First Link, featured distinguished industry leaders including Bryan Harvey, Vice President, Head of KSA Giga Projects and Middle East Growth at Jacobs; Mufeed Saleh, Program Director at Bechtel; Amani Khalifa, Partner and Head of the Saudi Disputes Practice at Freshfields; and Mahmoud AlAli, Head of Property and Engineering at Chubb Arabia Cooperative.
The panel delved into the complexities of managing risk in the phases of mega projects in the region through a case study approach.
The evening concluded with engaging Q&A session providing valuable insights and practical strategies for professionals involved in mega projects in Saudi Arabia.

Eastern Province: On Monday, May 20th, the AmCham Saudi Arabia Energy Committee, led by Chairman Ebubekir Koyuncu, hosted its fourth installment of the Lunch & Learn series.
Dr. Yousef M. Alshammari, FEI, one of the world's top 50 global energy analysts listed by Gulf Intelligence and Senior Research Fellow & Consultant of Imperial College London, kicked off the event with his presentation on "Oil to Chemicals in Saudi Arabia and Beyond: Opportunities and Challenges", followed by a panel discussion with executive leaders of U.S. energy sector companies operating in Kingdom, including ExxonMobil, Fluor Corporation, KBR Inc., and Lummus Technology, who gave their insights into the demand for oil to chemical technologies globally and how they are meeting that demand and addressing associated challenges.

Jeddah: The AmCham Saudi Arabia’s Women in Business Committee hosted an inspirational panel discussion focusing on the topic of "Female Entrepreneurship in KSA: Navigating Scalability for Women Entrepreneurs" on May 20th in Jeddah. The panel delved into effective scaling strategies, network leverage, and investor attraction, featuring wisdom from experienced business leaders.
The event commenced with welcome remarks by Kim Haweit, Jeddah Chapter Director of AmCham Saudi Arabia, followed by remarks from the Acting Chair of the Women in Business Committee, Shoruq Makki. Additionally, Maha Juffali-Ghandour, Founder and Supervising Board Member of The Help Center delivered an inspiring keynote speech detailing her personal experience over the years.
The panel discussion moderated by Nora Al-Jindi, Director of the Marketing Department at Dar Al-Hekma University, featured distinguished female entrepreneurs including Marriam Mossalli, Founder & CEO of Niche Arabia; Dania Shinkar, Founder and Creative Director at Dania Shinkar Limited; Jehan Alallah, IT Manager at Amazon; as well as Muhammad Khan, the Associate Professor in Marketing Entrepreneurship and Strategy Department at Effat University.
The discussion showcased the talent, innovation, and resilience of female entrepreneurs who are shaping the landscape of business in KSA. Additionally, the event provided a platform for networking and knowledge sharing while highlighting the successes and challenges faced by women in business.
The event concluded with an engaging Q&A session, followed by dinner at the Hilton Hotel overlooking the beautiful views of the Jeddah coast.

Riyadh: On May 21st, the AmCham Saudi Arabia’s Education Committee in collaboration with Institute of International Education hosted a round table discussion on “Opportunities for Higher Education Collaboration for the Kingdom’s Economic Diversification” in Riyadh.
The participants, including the representatives from the U.S. Embassy Saudi Arabia, Institute of International Education, International School Group (ISG), Duke University and the AmCham Education Committee Leadership, discussed the variety of exchange programs introduced to align education with industry demands fostering the collaboration between the U.S. and Saudi Arabia.

Jeddah: On May 29th, AmCham Saudi Arabia's Jeddah Chapter hosted an exclusive roundtable discussion on the transformation of tourism in Saudi Arabia at the Jeddah Yacht Club. This roundtable featured esteemed guests, including the Consul General of the U.S. Consulate Jeddah, Mr. Faris Asad, as well as experts from the tourism sector. Furthermore, the event aimed to catalyze the sustainable development of the tourism sector in Saudi Arabia, with a focus on the Western region, through collaborative discourse among key stakeholders.
The event commenced with remarks from the Jeddah Chapter President, Nasser Bayram, the Jeddah Chapter Vice President Mohamad Tafesh, U.S. Consul General, Faris Asad, and Kerry LePain, Foreign Commercial Officer at the U.S. Embassy in Riyadh. The discussion delved deeper into various topics, including infrastructure development, investment opportunities, cultural heritage preservation, and collaboration initiatives.

Riyadh: On May 31 and June 1, 2024, The American Chamber of Commerce Saudi Arabia under its Arts, Culture, and Entertainment Committee, hosted the second annual US-Saudi Film Forum in Riyadh, a series of roundtable discussions between U.S. and Saudi film industry executives focused on growing the film industry between our respective countries.
The two-day event, organized with the support of the U.S. Embassy in Riyadh, facilitated collaboration between senior figures from the U.S. film industry and their established counterparts in Saudi Arabia, including producers, investors, attorneys, financiers, film companies, distributors, government, and industry executives.
The sessions were moderated by Todd Albert Nims, Director of US Saudi Film Forum and Chair of Arts, Culture & Entertainment Committee at AmCham Saudi Arabia, and included: - “Structuring Film Deals for Streamers and Studios” with Ismat Abidi, former Head of Business and Legal Affairs for Netflix MENA
