Riyadh:  On Wednesday, September 18th, AmCham Saudi Arabia's Women in Business Committee collaborated with the WIn Fellowship, a part of the Atlantic Council's empowerME initiative, to explore women’s entrepreneurship in Saudi Arabia.

The event brought together policymakers, industry leaders, and experts to share insights and formulate actionable policy recommendations aimed at supporting female entrepreneurs.

Attendees engaged in discussions about the current landscape of women’s entrepreneurship in the Kingdom, identifying persistent challenges while highlighting opportunities for growth and innovation as Saudi Arabia shifts its economic ecosystem. The dialogue focused on ensuring continued progress for women in the entrepreneurial space.

Riyadh: As part of AmCham Saudi Arabia’s Healthcare Committee's mission to enhance collaboration and drive innovation within the healthcare sector, we successfully conducted a workshop on Wednesday, September 25th, in partnership with NUPCO. This event aimed to strengthen public-private partnerships and explore strategic initiatives that will build upon the already robust healthcare infrastructure in the Kingdom.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to NUPCO for graciously hosting the workshop. Special thanks are also extended to U.S. Ambassador Michael Ratney and U.S. Senior Commercial Counselor Andrew Billard for their invaluable contributions to the discussions, highlighting the significance of international cooperation in advancing healthcare initiatives. Additionally, we extend our heartfelt thanks to Mr. Khalid Khan, Commercial Advisor at the U.S. Foreign Commercial Service, for his dedicated efforts.

The workshop began with welcoming remarks from Mr. Fahad Alshebel, CEO of NUPCO, followed by insights from Ambassador Ratney, Mr. Billard, and Mazen Takhah, Chair of AmCham Saudi Arabia’s Healthcare Committee. The primary objective of this gathering was to enhance healthcare delivery, optimize supply chains, and support ongoing advancements in the region. It served as a vital platform for key stakeholders to engage in meaningful dialogue, share best practices, and identify opportunities for mutual growth and development. 

To conclude this successful day, attendees had the opportunity to network during a dinner reception hosted at the residence of Mr. Billard.

Overall, the workshop proved to be an invaluable experience that facilitated meaningful dialogue and collaboration within the Saudi healthcare landscape. We look forward to continuing these initiatives and fostering further partnerships in the future.

Jeddah:  On Wednesday, September 25th, AmCham Saudi Arabia's Education Committee hosted an engaging roundtable discussion at the American International School of Jeddah, focusing on the vital role of education in achieving the goals of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030.

The discussion opened with remarks from AmCham’s Education Committee Chair, Dr. Maha Bawazir; Co-Chair Mr. Hans Ott; and Program Director Ms. Nora Al-Jindi. A select group of thought leaders and experts contributed to the dialogue, exploring how the education sector can support the Kingdom's transformation under three key themes: a vibrant society, a thriving economy, and an ambitious nation.

We extend a special thank you to the American International School of Jeddah for hosting us. Additionally, we would like to sincerely thank our guest speakers—Dr. Nasser Nabhan, Interim Superintendent at the American International School of Jeddah; Dr. Dareen Abdulmohsen, Chair of Law & Diplomacy at Dar Al-Hekma University; Julian Edwards, Director of Learning and Innovation at The KAUST School; Dr. Haya Al-Dajani, Professor of Entrepreneurship at Prince Mohammed Bin Salman College of Business and Entrepreneurship; and Huda Batterjee, Public Engagement Specialist at the U.S. Consulate General in Jeddah—for their valuable participation and for sharing their expertise.

Eastern Province: On Sunday, September 29th, AmCham Saudi Arabia Energy Committee held its inaugural meeting for the year, where key leaders and major players from the energy sector gathered to discuss emerging trends impacting the industry. The meeting served as a platform for exchanging insights on the rapidly evolving energy landscape in Saudi Arabia and beyond.

One of the key outcomes of the meeting was the committee’s declaration of a decarbonization focus, commencing this season as the "Year of Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS)." This aligns with the committee’s strategic goals, emphasizing sustainability and innovation—two cornerstones of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030.

The Energy Committee outlined a comprehensive strategy designed to strengthen collaboration within the energy sector, enhance dialogue between local and international energy companies, and promote the role of U.S. energy firms in the Kingdom’s ambitious energy transition. The strategy includes hosting a series of high-profile events, roundtables, and industry-specific discussions aimed at fostering engagement and collaboration.

These events will not only highlight the latest innovations and opportunities in the sector but also showcase the critical role U.S. energy companies play in contributing to Saudi Arabia’s growing energy market. As part of its commitment to promoting sustainability, innovation, and energy efficiency, the committee is set to drive key advancements that will support the Kingdom’s transition toward a more sustainable future.

With several key engagements planned for the year, the AmCham Saudi Arabia Energy Committee is poised to play a leading role in facilitating valuable partnerships between Saudi and U.S. energy firms, furthering the Kingdom’s position as a global energy leader.

Eastern Province:  On Tuesday, September 3rd, we launched the season with a Welcome Back Networking Breakfast hosted by AmCham Saudi Arabia's Eastern Province Chapter. This event provided an excellent opportunity for both members and guests to reconnect and build new relationships.

It was a pleasure to see many familiar faces and warmly welcome first-time attendees. The level of engagement and enthusiasm from everyone truly contributed to the success of the event.

The program featured insightful speeches from distinguished guests, including U.S. Consul General James Sindle, who shared valuable insights on U.S.-KSA relations, and U.S. Commercial Consul William Toerpe, who highlighted his commitment to community engagement.

A special thank you to Darrell McGraw, EP Chapter President, for presenting an exciting vision for the upcoming AmCham season, and to Margherita Ungaro, Acting Executive Director, for visiting the Eastern Province Chapter to strengthen our connections.

Overall, it was a wonderful networking opportunity, and we look forward to hosting more events that foster meaningful engagement and support our vibrant community.

Jeddah: On Tuesday, September 10th, AmCham Saudi Arabia hosted a welcome dinner to honor the new U.S. Consul General, Mr. Dao Le.

Held at the stunning La Mer Restaurant at the Jeddah Yacht Club & Marina, the evening was a fantastic opportunity for our business community to connect and engage in insightful conversations with Mr. Le about his vision and experiences. 

The evening began with inspiring speeches from Nasser Bayram, President of the AmCham Jeddah Chapter Board of Directors, and U.S. Consul General Mr. Dao Le. Guests enjoyed a delicious seafood dinner while taking in breathtaking views of the Red Sea.

The dinner concluded with dynamic conversations focusing on the future of U.S.-Saudi relations. AmCham members left the event feeling optimistic and confident in Mr. Le’s leadership as he embarks on his new tenure in Saudi Arabia.

All Chapters:  On Monday, September 30th, the American Chamber of Commerce Saudi Arabia held its Annual General Meeting across three chapters—Riyadh, Jeddah, and Eastern Province—bringing together members and esteemed guests for an engaging evening reception.

During the event, attendees gained valuable insights into the current state of AmCham Saudi Arabia, which included a comprehensive annual report, an overview of financial status, updates from various committees, and a summary of our recent engagements.

The highlight of the evening was the announcement of the newly elected board, signifying a pivotal moment for the organization. We also recognized all our Quincy Circle members, who were honored with trophies for their outstanding contributions.

The meeting concluded with a vibrant networking session, providing participants with the opportunity to socialize and foster meaningful connections.
